Heat Energy Centers

For GP Joule Wärme, we transferred their corporate design into three-dimensional space and, in particular, to the design of heat energy centers, which generate local heat from 100% renewable energy. We documented the results in a comprehensive design manual that helps planners to configure heat supply infrastructure for GP Joule Heat.

Mobility Stations Wolfsburg

In order to support the visibility, attractiveness, quality of stay and recognition value of the planned mobility station in Wolfsburg in the street and cityscape, we developed a corporate design for the mobility stations. The stations will have their own logo, consisting of a figurative mark and a word mark. To make it clear that individual infrastructure elements belong to the station, the figurative mark and/or a graphical structure developed from the figurative mark is applied to the individual components. A stele, designed by us, is the centerpiece of each station. A detailed design guideline describes the use of the individual elements and defines standards for colors, ground conditions, ground markings, the use of light and others.

The intelligent approach to mobility pricing has a traffic-directing effect. It is part of a holistic, modern, environmentally sensitive traffic management. Styleguide for Urban Furniture and Infrastructure

Following the closure of Berlin-Tegel Airport, a research and industrial park for urban technologies is being built on part of the premises – the URBAN TECH REPUBLIC. Based on the existing logo, we designed a structure that will be used graphically and product-wise on a wide variety of elements in public spaces, and set guidelines for the use of materials, colors and shapes. This creates a visual cohesion of the premises. The specific characteristics of the new research an industrial park are reflected in the public space. We documented the results in a comprehensive style guide.

Mobile Ticketing System

This ticketing system is used in the doorway area of public transportation. It is used for the cashless sale and the control of tickets. Despite its very small dimensions, it offers an easy-to-read display that is inclined towards the user as well as a QR and RFID reader. If necessary, the device can be complemented with a printer for paper tickets. The clear interface enables quick and intuitive operation by the customer.

Combined Heat and Power System

The combined heat and power system H2PS-5 enables the local production of power and heat from biogas, natural gas or liquid gas through an intermediate production of hydrogen. It can be used for small buildings and companies, as well as for villages and temporary facilities such as field hospitals, refugee camps etc. in areas without electricity. The innovative technology is reflected in the modern appearance and the modern operation via a touchscreen.

Product Family Kineo – Drinking

The design of the KINEO product family is characterized by prominent oblique lines, that are jointly forming a harmonious overall appearance. Wooden elements are forming a warm contrast to the modern, dark porcelain stoneware and the high-quality stainless steel components. In the drinking section, the KINEO series includes an insulation jug in two different sizes, a water carafe, a milk jug, a sugar bowl, a cup, a tray and latte macchiato glasses.

The KINEO VARIO electric kettle and the KINEO toaster both combine a bold and modern esthetic with highest precision and well-thought-out functionality. A real-time display shows the current temperature (kettle) or the time remaining (toaster).

The solutions from highQ are used for the organization and management of transport companies and the digitalization and intercommunication of mobility services. We supported highQ in illustrating their products, making them understandable and visualizing content. For this purpose, among other things, explanatory animations were created for various products.

With just a few gestures on the intuitive touchscreen interface, users have easy access to extensive data collection and analysis functions. Taken as a whole, they create synergistic forces that enable the brand to appear consistently both internally and externally.

The user interface for a tube and profile welding system makes it possible to control and monitor complex parameters of the welding process. These are graphically visualized for users and can be operated quickly and intuitively. The design fits into the family of different interfaces developed for Coherent.

With SafeGate a hygienic entrance gate has been created, that enables a secure access to buildings and events and an optimal prevention. Hand disinfection, measuring of the body temperature, check of protective masks, as well as data control and access control are completed automatically and quickly. The modular system is designed to be used intuitively and cleaned easily. Its pure design appears at the same time welcoming and protective.

To meet the growing need for electric and hydrogen charging infrastructure, we have designed a charging park concept for GP Joule. The future-oriented technology is reflected in the modern and eye-catching design. The design supports GPJoule’s brand presence. The roofs protect against the weather and at the same time draw attention to the charging infrastructure. As an option, the charging infrastructure can be supplemented with rest areas, toilets, showers and snack supply.

Modular System for Bike Parking in Vienna

The City of Vienna initiated a challenge as part of a market exploration to identify innovative solutions that enable high-quality, space-efficient, safe, and simple bike parking in urban areas. We are among the five winners. Key criteria for the jury included city-compatible space utilization and design, quality and safety of the facility, user-friendliness, functional modularity, accessibility, and scalability. With our design, we convinced the jury by demonstrating how a comprehensive solution can range from a simple bike hangar to a fully automated bike tower. The product design will become a corporate architecture for the entire city. In addition to design, economic feasibility and a simple booking system also play a significant role.

User Interface ConiQ

The interface for the CONiQ controller is characterized by a customer-centered user interface, that works for the various possible applications. The color scheme supports intuitive use and makes it easy for the user to recognize buttons and selection fields at first glance. The dashboard can be configured for both experienced and inexperienced users. CONiQ was developed in an iterative human centered design process together with Custom Interaction and was honored with the Red Dot Design Award 2019 for interface design.

Bike Tower

In 2013 we designed the first fully automated bicycle parking garage for the city of Offenburg. It enables fully automatic, theft- and weather-protected parking of up to 120 bicycles. Up to 12 bikes can be parked on both sides simultaneously. In 2024, the bicycle parking garage was adapted to changing needs and subjected to a redesign.

Identity-Defining Elements for Cycle Superhighways

The Metropolregion Hamburg in planning a network of cycle superhighways, that will enable users to reach their destinations comfortably, safely, quickly and without disruption over the shortest possible routes. The cycling infrastructure was already part of the planning process at an early stage. Identity-establishing elements such as steles, shelters, bike service stations and handhold elements will increase comfort and recognition factor, enhance acceptance and contribute to easy orientation. A memorable bevel shapes the appearance of all the elements and gives the cycle superhighways their own DNA.

Compact Welding System – Study

The enclosed, laser-safe housing enables operation in a standard production environment without additional safety measures. With a few simple steps, the housing can be converted into an open laser setup to process larger or longer components. The workstation is ergonomically designed and equipped with a large integrated display to control and monitor the entire work process.

The CONiQ controller is a control unit for industrial weighing technology from Schenck Process. It is suited for completely different environments and tasks. For example, users can use it to control a truck scale on a junkyard, a crane scale on a construction site or a loss-in-weight feeder in a production process. The CONiQ controller can be used as needed, hanging on the wall or standing. The restrained and modern design puts the user interface into the focus, which was developed consistent with the device.

Metal 3D Printer Infinity

The metal 3D printer INFINITY makes a component size of up to 50x50x50 cm possible. Separate trolleys are either way driven into the machine as powder tank or build area. The machine is monitored and controlled through the five monitors that are integrated into the sliding door. The User interface, that has especially been developed for the machine, enables the user to monitor the clearly arranged figures, to closely follow each step and to manipulate various parameters at any time. The innovation of the machine is reflected in the modern design of the machine and the interface.

Mobile Ticket Vending Machine

With the mobile, barrier-free ticket vending machine tickets can be purchased flexibly, intuitively, cashless and contactless. The modular structure enables the usage as payment terminal, information terminal or to distribute printed tickets. The modern design puts the 32″ screen into the focus. It provides large space for the communication with the user and can additionally be used for other purposes such as ads.

In order to support the visibility, the attractiveness, the quality of stay and the recognition value of the planned mobility stations of Wolfsburg in the street and cityscape, a corporate design was developed for the mobility stations. The stations receive their own logo, consisting of a picture and a wordmark. To make it clear that the separate infrastructure elements belong to the station, the picture mark and/or a graphical structure developed from the picture mark is applied to the individual components. The specially developed stele is an important part of each station, points out the station, increases the recognition value and provides information. A detailed styleguide describes the use of the individual elements and defines, among other things, colors, floor conditions, floor markings and the use of light.

Tollgate Terminal

With a concise and fresh design the company krauth has won the tender for the next generation of HGV toll collection. Together we have newly developed a duo of an outdoor terminal and an indoor terminal. A large ergonomically tilted touchscreen is used in both terminals and allows the user a clear and quick handling. The illuminated top of the outdoor terminal is an additional highlight. The two terminals are complemented by a point-of-sale terminal.

Mobile Urban Gardens Osnabrück

To improve the quality of stay in public spaces and the microclimate, the mobile urban gardens were developed for the city of Osnabrück. The modular system consists of various seating options and plantable modules, that can be configurated as needed. This creates resting areas and meeting places for the neighbourhood, that are tailored to the location. The urban gardens are used on parking lots for a fixed period of time, before they are permanently unsealed and the modules are relocated. Thanks to their clear and timeless design, they fit perfectly into the cityscape of Osnabrück.
